riends often ask us for recommendations on cozy hotels or apartments in Valencia, but here’s the thing… when May and I were still visitors, we just stayed in a simple Airbnb or a friend’s house (yeah, this makes me realize that we should really introduce staycations into our lives). So, we didn’t really have a clue. However, everything is figureoutable.
Last week we got an email from someone who’s looking for cozy hotels with rooftop terraces and I said: let’s dig into it!
If you wanna book a stay at one of the following hotels and apartments, just click on the titles and you’ll be directed to their website.
- Blanq Carmen Hotel (El Carmen)
This cozy hotel is set in a historic building and is located in the old town.
Blanq Carmen Hotel is famous for its stylish rooftop terrace as well as its beautiful views of the Serrano Towers.
If you’re visiting during Summer, we recommend having a dip in their rooftop pool. It’s not that big, but it’s something! Keep in mind that this pool is only available for hotel guests.
Some rooms look out over the Turia Park, so do check that out in case you wanna enjoy more beautiful views.
The seasonal rooftop terrace isn’t private, it’s open for anyone who wants to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, a simple cup of coffee, or some good old cocktails.
- Sea Port II (El Cabanyal)
To me, El Cabanyal is one of the most authentic seaside neighborhoods in Valencia.
You’ll find a mix of locals, students, tourists, and expats.
It’s messy, chaotic, loud, and beautiful at the same time. It’s raw and pure, and that’s the beauty of it. Don’t be surprised if you see people making music on the streets, dancing, offering each other a cigarette, or having a passionate discussion. Anything can happen in El Cabanyal.
If this makes your heart sing, you should definitely book a stay at Sea Port II.
This cozy one-bedroom apartment is only a 15-minute walk from the beach and has a small, private rooftop terrace and seasonal rooftop pool. Perfect if you want some privacy and really want to get that “homey” feeling.
Please note that Sea Port II isn’t on Google Maps.
- Zalamera Bnb (close to Ruzafa)
Oh, how much we love Ruzafa! This trendy neighborhood is very popular and home to all kinds of people.
While I was doing my research on cozy hotels and apartments, I found this gem. Zalamera BnB is a bed & breakfast close to Ruzafa which totally reflects the neighborhood’s character.
It’s stylish and unique, but not too modern. The sun terrace is filled with some popping colors, a bunch of plants, and cute little lights.
The rooms are simple and sophisticated while the coffee bar stands out with its industrial design and authentic Spanish tiles.
Some rooms have their own terrace or patio and if you’re lucky enough, you’ll be able to end the day chilling in a hammock…just saying.
- Hotel Miramar Valencia (Las Arenas)
Wanna wake up to the sound of crashing waves? This small and cozy hotel overlooks the beach of Las Arenas.
Hotel Miramar Valencia is definitely worth visiting, even if you don’t plan to spend the night.
Why that is? Well, their rooftop terrace is a total hot spot. Many people go here to have a drink or grab a bite while enjoying the gorgeous views of the sea.
- Hotel One Shot Mercat 09 (El Carmen)
Behind Mercado Central, you’ll find Hotel One Shot Mercat 09.
This boutique hotel was renovated in 2017 and has a very elegant design.
No wonder, because it was designed by Nonna Design Studio.
It’s one of the few hotels in the center with a seasonal rooftop pool and sun terrace (which is only available for hotel guests), bonus!
In general, I find that boutique hotels give off this “homey” vibe, there’s just something about it.
However, I wouldn’t necessarily call One Shot Mercat 09 cozy, but I’ve read the reviews and it seems that there are plenty of people who find the rooms cozy, comfortable and functional. So I would say: give it a shot ;-)
Of course, there are plenty of other cozy hotels and apartments out there. We’ve created a list on Google Maps, where you can find a couple more unique accommodations.
If you’re going to book a stay, we would really appreciate it if you could mention us, as we’re not sponsored yet. Getting sponsored will help us create more useful content in the future!
Un abrazo,
Stephanie
